This policy describes the exact Android app. It is separate in scope from membership, registration, venue CCTV, media, payments and other services outside the app.

01

Responsible entity, release and scope

This Privacy Policy applies to Shuttlefold Cambridge for Android, package nz.org.cambridgebadminton.shuttlefold, version 1.0.0 (version code 1), with an effective date of 10 August 2026. Cambridge Badminton Club Incorporated is identified as the organization responsible for this app release.

This policy describes the behavior of this exact Android app. It does not replace or broaden the privacy policy that may apply to club membership, registration, payments, venue CCTV, photography, events, websites, social media, coaching records or other services operated outside this app.

02

Intended audience and adult or guardian boundary

Shuttlefold Cambridge is an offline court-preparation and practice fieldbook intended primarily for adult players, coaches, volunteers, parents and guardians. Some preset illustrations and activities refer to junior badminton, but they are designed to be viewed or used with appropriate adult or guardian support.

The app is not a private communication channel between adults and children, a child supervision service, an attendance register or a substitute for the club's current safeguarding procedures. A responsible adult remains accountable for supervision, consent, collection arrangements and decisions in the real setting.

03

Purpose and principal functions

The app provides preset rally recipes, footwork ideas, doubles-position prompts, a temporary session composer, anonymous colour-token rotations, a temporary practice counter, court-courtesy scenarios, venue-readiness reminders, guardian prompts, general safety boundaries, source notes, privacy controls and app information.

It does not provide live schedules, space availability, registration, membership decisions, payments, competition entry, rankings, official certification, live coaching, incident reporting, emergency response or a current official rules service. Users should follow current club instructions and applicable sport or venue procedures.

04

Data collected, transmitted and not collected

Shuttlefold Cambridge does not collect or transmit personal data to Cambridge Badminton Club Incorporated, the developer or an app backend. The app has no backend, account server, analytics endpoint or embedded network client, and it does not request Android Internet permission.

The app does not collect names, email addresses, phone numbers, dates of birth, home addresses, membership data, payment information, device identifiers, advertising identifiers, precise or approximate location, contacts, photographs, audio, video, files, messages, health information, fitness history, incident details or browsing activity.

05

On-device preferences and temporary session state

A small set of non-sensitive interface choices may be stored locally on the device, such as Reduce Motion, selected bookmarks and whether an introductory note has been dismissed. These values are used only to restore the user's preferred presentation.

Session Composer choices, anonymous Rotation Bench colours, practice-counter values, courtesy-card position and similar working state are designed as temporary convenience state. They do not identify a person and should not be used to encode a name, attendance record, selection decision or performance history.

06

Sensitive records, youth records and free-text exclusions

The app does not provide free-text notes or fields for sensitive information. It is not designed to store youth profiles, attendance, emergency contacts, medical conditions, injuries, safeguarding concerns, incident narratives, eligibility decisions, disciplinary records or confidential correspondence.

Do not use screenshots, device labels or external workarounds to turn the app into a record system. Use the club's authorized, access-controlled process for information that genuinely must be documented or escalated.

07

Android permissions and device access

The release does not request Internet, location, camera, microphone, contacts, calendar, phone, SMS, nearby-device, Bluetooth, notification, body-sensor, health, broad storage or media permissions.

Basic Android capabilities needed to display the interface, read packaged app resources and open an external email application when the user chooses Contact are not data-collection permissions. The installed APK and AAB should be reviewed again if the app is changed in a later release.

08

Accounts, login and account deletion

Shuttlefold Cambridge has no account creation, login, password, profile, subscription or cloud identity. It therefore has no in-app account record for the user to delete and no server-side account-deletion workflow.

Deleting local app state is described in Section 13. Contacting the organization about a separate club membership or another external service does not create an app account and is governed by that service's own process.

09

Advertising, analytics, tracking and third-party runtime SDKs

The app contains no advertising, AdMob, analytics, attribution, telemetry, crash-reporting service, social SDK, embedded browser, remote AI, remote configuration, tracking pixel or behavioral profiling technology.

No personal data is used for advertising, personalized content, cross-app tracking or measurement. If a future release adds any such technology, its behavior, permissions, Data Safety answers and policy must be updated before that release is distributed.

10

Sharing, disclosure, sale and third parties

Because the app does not collect or receive personal data, it does not share, disclose, rent or sell app-user personal data. There is no app backend or vendor receiving app session state.

When the user deliberately leaves the app for an external email provider or another external service, that provider may process information under its own terms and privacy practices. The user controls whether to continue and what information to provide.

11

External email, source references and network behavior

Choosing Contact prepares a mailto request addressed to info@cambridgebadminton.co.nz and hands control to an email application selected by the user. Shuttlefold Cambridge does not compose hidden content, press Send, receive the message, read the user's mailbox or retain the message. The email application and its provider may transmit and store information after the user chooses to use them.

The Source Cabinet contains offline citation information so users can identify relevant first-party and sport-sector materials. The Android app does not fetch those sources. Any website or source opened outside the app requires the user's separate action and is governed by the external provider.

12

Retention

The app retains only the bounded local preferences described in Section 5 until the user resets them, clears app storage or uninstalls the app. Temporary composer, rotation and counter state lasts only as required for the current local use and is not sent to a server.

The organization cannot retrieve app state from the device through this release. Email sent using an external provider, and records created through separate club systems, have retention rules set by those external services rather than this app.

13

Deletion, reset, backup and device transfer

The Privacy Centre includes a reset control that clears the app's bounded preferences after confirmation. The user can also clear the app's storage in Android settings or uninstall the app. These actions remove app-controlled local state from that installation.

Android cloud backup and device-transfer backup are deliberately disabled for this release, including the app's shared preferences, files and databases. Copies outside the app, such as screenshots or emails, must be managed in the system or service where the user created them.

14

Security measures and limits

The offline design, absence of a backend, minimal local state, disabled backup and lack of sensitive input fields reduce the amount of app-controlled information exposed. Release artifacts are also reviewed for unexpected permissions and runtime dependencies before handoff.

No device or software is completely secure. Users should protect the device with current operating-system updates and an appropriate screen lock. The app must not be relied upon as secure storage for confidential, safeguarding, medical, membership, financial or incident information.

15

Children, Families and safeguarding

The app does not knowingly collect personal data from children. It has no child account, public profile, social feed, chat, follower system, location sharing, targeted advertising or direct adult-to-child messaging. Junior-related content is preset and intended for use in an appropriately supervised sport setting.

Parents, guardians, coaches and authorized club adults must follow current child-protection requirements, consent rules and real-world supervision arrangements. The app is not a reporting or response channel. Where a child may be at risk or urgent assistance is needed, use the club's current safeguarding process and appropriate local services rather than recording the matter in the app.

16

Sport, health, safety and professional-advice limitations

Badminton and movement involve inherent risk. Shuttlefold Cambridge provides general educational prompts only. It does not assess fitness, monitor exercise, diagnose injury, recommend treatment, provide rehabilitation, replace a qualified coach or clinician, determine readiness to return, certify equipment or guarantee performance or wellbeing outcomes.

Users should adapt activities to the real participant, space, equipment, supervision and current club instructions. Stop when an activity, surface, environment or physical response appears unsafe; step away from play and seek an authorized club adult or appropriately qualified professional. For an urgent situation, use the locally applicable emergency service and venue procedure.

17

Policy changes and user choices

A later app release may update this policy when functions, data behavior, law or distribution requirements change. A material change should have a new effective date and be reflected consistently in the in-app policy, public HTML policy, store listing and declaration materials before the updated release is distributed.

Users may choose not to use the app, avoid the external email action, reset local preferences, clear app storage or uninstall the app. Reduce Motion is available for users who prefer a quieter presentation.

18

Privacy questions and contact

Questions about the privacy behavior of this app may be directed to Cambridge Badminton Club Incorporated at info@cambridgebadminton.co.nz or by post at 5 MacLean Street, Cambridge 3434, New Zealand.

Do not send urgent, medical, safeguarding or emergency information through a general privacy enquiry. Use the appropriate current club or emergency pathway for the situation. When using email, include only the information necessary for the enquiry.
